Organizing Rant and a review of Thyme-is-Honey

The older I get the more interested I am in streamlining my life.  Especially when it comes to social media. Take facebook as an example...do you ever get the urge to purge your friend list.  Especially when you are getting spammed more than messaged.  "Oh hello friend from the second grade, I know I haven't seen or heard from you in 2 decades but sure I'll be your facebook BFF, and btw cute kid" or "Hey guy from summer camp 2001, yep we can be friends and I'll look at your occasional cat picture but the second you give your political view in hourly updates, you will be hidden from my timeline."  Ah, and my very favorite..."Hey girl from that random speech class in college, I see that you live in Denmark now - very cool but please don't send me 1000+ requests a day to play zombiecrushfarmquestcandyville."  At one point in my life I had a come one come all friend count but now, it's just too much.  Occasionally I have to go through my blog roll and delete out any accounts that are no longer active or that I don't read anymore.  Oh and my pinterest boards? I need to dedicate a whole afternoon to organizing them into more specific categories.  It's driving me crazy.

I need structure in my day to day life as well.  I love my Lilly Pulitzer day planner and most of you know that I ordered a Kate Spade one that I'm currently moving everything to - to organize my work life a good day planner can not be beat.  But for my personal life I like having a separate planner.  Something I can even leave out in case R needs to be notified of any tasks.  At the NC Blogger Buzz meet up this past Friday we received a tablet from etsy guru Thyme is Honey that is perfect for daily personal organization.  I've been using it since Monday and I've enjoyed it.  Here is a peek from yesterday and today's list:

I'm into meal planning so I'm glad that I can fill out what I'm eating for the whole week if I want, this is especially helpful if you use an app to keep track of calories but you don't have time to enter in your meals throughout the day.  I can keep track of how much water I'm drinking, daily goals, my cleaning list, and tasks.  I love lists and I believe that 10 minutes every morning to make out my daily list saves me a ton of time throughout the day and I feel more fulfilled at the end of the day when it's all checked off.
